When searching the Library catalog, there is a limit option where you can simply select a link to limit to only those items which are from peer reviewed journals. Many individual databases have an equivalent option. The short video linked below describes in more detail how to do this.

Begin at the TCC Library homepage: library.tccd.edu

  • Under TCC Catalog, select Article Databases.
  • Note that the Search in Peer-Reviewed Journals Only checkbox is checked by default.
  • Enter your search criteria in the Search for box.
  • Click the Search button.

On the left hand side of the screen of your search results, you will see some options to choose from.

  • If Peer-reviewed Journals. is not already under Active filters, click on Peer-reviewed Journals.
  • Make sure that Available Online is also selected.

Whether or not you choose the "Peer-reviewed Journals" filter, peer-reviewed journals can be identified in the search results by the "Peer Reviewed" icon.
